After 38 years, Line 3 (Scarborough RT) will be decommissioned permanently later this Fall 2023. Join us on a photo walk to help document the RT's final year.
This photo walk will stop and highlight each of the RT stops (Kennedy, Lawrence East, Ellesmere, Midland, Scarborough Centre, McCowan), the unique views the elevated stations and tracks provide, its connections to the surrounding communities, and potential reuse opportunities to maintain and provide unique public spaces.
We'll briefly exit Lawrence East station to view the 'The East Side Mural' one of many iconic graffiti murals that have been accumulating over the years along the RT tracks. After arriving at end of the RT line, McCowan Station, we'll conclude by making our way to a 15ft long mural wall covered in artwork that embodies 'Community Strong' (and also provides unique views into McCowan Yard).
Walk Start Location: Kennedy Park-Ionview, Kennedy Station RT Platform (upper floor). Walk leader will be wearing a high vis vest (itsneerby stated on the back).
Walk End Location: 1712 Ellesmere Rd, Scarborough, ON (5 mins walk outside McCowan Station)
