WALK DETAILS:

If you've been looking for the missing middle in Toronto, look no further.

Join members of the City of Toronto Planning team who are working to make our neighbourhoods more welcoming places for all by adding garden suites, laneway suites, multiplexes, low-rise apartment buildings, and local commercial uses through the Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods initiative.

Although we call these forms of housing the "missing middle", they can be found across the city today, many hiding in plain sight. Can you spot them?

The staff team will identify where they are located along the route, talk about why we don't see more of this type of housing – and what the city is doing to address it.

  • Walk Start Location: Paul Garfinkel Park (1071 Queen St W) - Queen Street sideOrganizer will have a sign.
