Importance of Public Plazas
By Julian Sleath, Yonge-Dundas Square.

WALK DETAILS:
Public plazas are essential community gathering spaces that foster social interaction, civic engagement and cultural expression. This walk will take you through three downtown public squares in Toronto - David Pecaut Square, Nathan Phillips Square and Yonge Dundas Square. We will be having a conversation about how design and programming can encourage social interaction and contribute to the economic vitality of the surrounding areas. We encourage you to bring your own ideas for these public spaces.
