Exploring the rich history of housing solutions and neighbourhood and community building in East York. In a very small area, we can see overlapping approaches to housing and community building, including post-war single-family homes, rental coops, low- and high-rise, and some surprises. Along the way, we'll look at how successive generations of residents have created community and instilled their neighbouhoods with a sense of place.
The walk will begin at Dawes Crossing (Dawes Road and Victoria Park), and end in Crescent Town.
Busy sidewalks, Dog-friendly walk, Family-friendly walk.
Walk Start Location:
Dawes Crossing (Dawes Rd. & Victoria Park).
We'll have a pink flag.
Walk End Location:
Dawes Rd & Crescent Town Rd, at the entrance to Taylor Creek Park.
