Welcome to the best neighbourhood in the world! I might be biased because I’ve lived and worked here for nearly a decade - but if you love art, history, architecture, fashion, food and park life - it doesn’t get better than West Queen West.
Whether you’re familiar with this neighbourhood or exploring it for the first time, you will definitely learn something you never knew about the Trinity Bellwoods area. We’ll go back in time - sometimes thousands of years - to understand how the park came to form, what secrets are buried beneath the surface, the dark history of CAMH and how change - for better or worse - has shaped the community. Change in the form of glacial erosion, gentrification, destruction of buildings, changing attitudes towards mental health and more recently - a pandemic.
As we walk, we’ll also share some shoutouts to some of our favourite businesses in the area.
This walk is my love-letter to the vibrant culture and rich history of West Queen West, Ossington and Trinity Bellwoods Park. We’ll be joined on the walk by my husband Patrick, our baby daughter Adelaide Jane and our dog, Bubbles.
We will send you a live stream link on the day of the walk.
