Finding Old Castle Frank

Bob Georgiou

This Jane's Walk will explore the lost history and geography of the Castle Frank area. We'll discover dramatic ravine landscapes, forgotten 200-year old roads, former and current grand residences, and of course, the legacy of the Simcoes.

An important note: Although most of the walk will take place on sidewalks and even ground, we'll be hiking down and up steep and potentially muddy hillsides for a short portion of the walk. Appropriate footwear is highly recommended. Because of this, the full walk will not be accessible and will require some tact navigating some potentially challenging terrain. There is an opportunity to skip this section for those who do not wish to undertake it.

The walk will take a maximum of 90 minutes and will be a circuit, starting and stopping near Castle Frank subway station.
