The (not-so) missing middle: breaking down density

Malcolm Kennedy

I'll take people around adjacent blocks that have higher and lower residential density, and get people to think about how individual buildings contribute to block-level density. I'll point out some low-rise apartments, laneway houses and multiplexes -- both old and new -- that contribute to blocks with high density, and talk about the ways in which density has been declining in many low-rise nighbourhoods while the city's overall population rises.
