Chinatown, Now and Tomorrow

Chinatown West is one of the most unique neighbourhoods in the city with great cultural heritage significance and a history that continues to evolve. Through the Chinatown Tomorrow Planning Initiative, the City’s planning team has learned a lot from the community and built relationships with a diverse group of community partners and organizations. This walk provides a space for the local community to showcase their work and how we can walk together to build the future of Chinatown.
Picking up from last year’s walk, which focused on the history of Chinatown, this year’s focus will be on some of the ongoing projects that will shape the future of Chinatown. We will also be visiting the interior of an active Chinese Family Association – the Chan Association. Come to share your own stories or join us to learn about the history, the present and what can become the future of Chinatown West.
