Earlscourt - Mysteries and Hopes in a Modest Neighbourhood
David Raymont
What mysteries and hopes can be found behind the doors of 100-year-old modest-sized homes? Learn how a few blocks in a west-end residential neighbourhood can link stories of First Nations, war and its aftermath, two Princes of Wales and a man who loved Oscar Wilde. Passion, hope and history emerge in the most unexpected places.
Walk Start:
The walk starts at MacKay Avenue and Dufferin Street by Phil's Shoe Repair. This location is one block south of the intersection of Dufferin and St. Clair Avenue West where the St. Clair streetcar and the Dufferin bus both stop. This area is called the Corso Italia neighbourhood.
The walk ends at the corner of Rosemount and Greenlaw Avenues. The St. Clair streetcar stops at St. Clair West and Lansdowne, one block to the west.
