Legendary Houses
Stephan Petar
Legendary Houses, inspired by my former column in the real estate publication Storeys, looks at the houses that influential Canadians once called home. On this tour I will share the life and achievements of each individual, the architectural details about the house they lived in as well as paint a picture of what the area would have been like during the time. We will see the home of one of Canada's first queer activists; the second Indigenous person in Canada to earn a medical degree; co-founder of The National Ballet of Canada; an industrialist family; the family of a spirits dynasty; and an author and former The Toronto Star journalist. We will start at the southeast corner of Dundas Street East and George Street, and make our way to Sherbourne Street and Selby Street.
