Transportation Infrastructure & Equity in North Etobicoke
Kanchan Maharaj, Peter-John Stypa
Join City of Toronto Cycling and Traffic Signals staff for an equity and accessibility-based walk down the Kipling Avenue corridor and Multi-Use Trail. You'll learn about the history of the project as well as the socio-economic factors that influenced the corridor re-design including the City's Cycling Network Plan, Vision Zero principles and traffic signal technology.
We’ll explore the accessibility and safety features that were implemented and you'll learn about the design of active (pedestrian and cycling) and motor vehicle transportation infrastructure including bikeways, sidewalks, trails, traffic & bike signals, roadways, public transit infrastructure and features implemented for people with disabilities. We'll even show you the inside of a traffic signal controller cabinet and explain what goes on in there.
Bring all your questions. There will be stickers.
