Is Humber River Alive?

Inspired by the work of volunteers & the recent book "Is a River Alive?" by Robert Macfarlane, this walk will visit sites talk about the Humber River, its history, the impact of the Scarlett family in the area's 19th century history, the spring trout and fall salmon migrations, the devastating impact of Hurricane Hazel in the area and its legacy in conservation work by the TRCA and the City, the current eco-restoration work by volunteers with Humber River Pals & Toronto Nature Stewards, the Eglinton West Crosstown bridge across the river, and the plans for the Weston Loop's connections and enhancements in 5 parks on the east bank of the Humber.
