Ever wonder what lies beyond Toronto’s famous Chinatown that runs along Spadina Ave.? Join us to explore the lesser-known East Chinatown, full of untold stories and a rich history. In partnership with the University of Toronto’s School of Cities and the Toronto Chinatown Land Trust, this tour will be, filled with stories of migration hardship, community resilience, and a bit of local gossip!
Chinatown East, a haven for new immigrants, is a tapestry of affordable living, cultural diversity, and historical significance. On this tour, we'll peel back the layers of daily life and reveal hidden tales of protection, secrecy, and solidarity. We’ll also examine its present – the threats it faces and what it means to current and future generations.
