Planting Seeds… Growing Spaces: Informal Gathering Spaces in Toronto Laneways
Caitlin Taguibao and Marina Queirolo
How can we co-create spaces for gathering, bringing together artists, residents and members of the community?
Join us as we walk through Deborah Brown Laneway, Old Crookshank Lane and Karma Lane. Enjoy the arts, learn about the stories of the food-themed murals, and have conversations around creating alternative gathering spaces, and how your ideas can be planted and nurtured to grow into something bigger.
Throughout the walk participants will get to enjoy 20 murals, visit Karma Co-op and participate in an informal art making activity. Find out how you can be involved with the Karma and Deborah Brown Laneway Mural Project, a project by StreetARToronto (StART) in partnership with Karma Co-op, Nella Cucina and local residents, which started in 2024 and will continue into 2025!
