Techno Walk - Castle Frank Station

Alexander, Colin, Vik, Yoni

For two years and 45 walks so far, Techno Walk has been weaving through Toronto’s laneways, alleys, and valleys every two weeks. Inspired by the cold, dark, industrial look and feeling of techno music, Techno Walk is a search for that same aesthetic in the urban landscape. Counter-intuitive and unintentional beauty is our focus: finding the romance in a graffiti-strewn laneway, empty parking garage, or gloomy ravine. If psychogeography is an art form, then techno walk is the techno genre of psychogeography.

Psychogeography is the appreciation of how our feelings and thoughts are affected while wandering through a city. From the starting point, our direction is determined by impulse and consensus.

This is a special edition for Jane’s Walks; ordinary Techno Walks happen every two weeks. Follow @walkingtechno on Instagram to join us.
