Grounds for Celebration: Travel the World with Exhibition Place and the CNE

Fiona Crawford and Shayda Spalowski

Step into the past with the CNE and Exhibition Place Archives on a special Jane's Walk tour. From a diverse range of concerts at the Bandshell to annual exhibitions at the International Building, the CNE has featured art and culture from around the world each summer for almost 150 years. Over the past few decades, Exhibition Place has continued this tradition as host to many cultural celebrations, such as the CHIN Picnic, Toronto Caribbean Carnival, and Khalsa Day Parade. This tour will showcase some of these celebrations, performances and exhibits as well as our globally inspired collection of public art. As the world gathers at Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place this summer, join us in exploring the site's history of celebrating global cultures and our city's diversity.
