Jane's Walk in The Meadoway: a Community-Powered Greenspace

Eli Chin, Mary Jenkins

The Meadoway is transforming a hydro corridor in Scarborough into a vibrant 16-kilometre stretch of urban greenspace and meadow habitat that has become a signature naturalization project, linking neighbourhoods and community destinations across the region.

The Meadoway links 7 river systems, 15 parks, 16 kilometers of trails, 13 neighborhoods, 100 hectares of meadow, and over 1,000 species of flora and fauna.

This Jane’s Walk that will take place in the Meadoway will reveal the connection between meadows, forests, rivers, wildlife, roads, and people. As we cross through several ecosystems, we will see how the environments change, discuss accessibility, and build deeper relations with the land we are on.
