Tales of Two Cities: Rosedale & St. James Town

Who gets to have the best of times, who gets to have the worst of times? In this walk, we’ll explore Rosedale and St. James Town, two neighbourhoods a world apart, yet separated by just a street. Through histories and stories, we’ll think about bigger questions of how urban planning, via policies and community actions, contribute to the oftentimes divergent experiences of those who live in this city.
Most stops will be residential dwelling to prompt us a prompt for both a bit of history of urban planning in Toronto and bigger questions of equity and access. We'll walk and observe the street designs of each neighbourhood, look at housing development, and community spaces (or lack thereof).
