Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park Through a United Way Lens: Community, Access and Opportunity
Lanrick Bennett Jr.
Join United Way Greater Toronto and community partners for an interactive Jane’s Walk exploring the Thorncliffe Park & Flemingdon Park community, one of Toronto’s most vibrant, diverse, and fast-growing neighbourhoods.
This guided walk will highlight how community spaces, social services, mobility infrastructure, and local leadership shape everyday life for residents. Through eight stops across the neighbourhood, participants will learn about the role that community hubs, accessible transportation, green space, newcomer supports, and grassroots organizations play in strengthening wellbeing and opportunity, and offering support during crisis moments.
The walk will also explore how upcoming investments, including the future Thorncliffe Park Ontario Line station, may impact access to jobs, education, and services, and what it means to plan infrastructure in ways that reflect community needs. Participants will hear directly from local leaders and practitioners working to improve quality of life in Thorncliffe Park and will be invited to reflect on how city-building decisions influence equity, climate resilience, and social connectedness.
