Historic Toronto Trials
Staff of Mackenzie House Museum
The Historic Toronto Trials walk visits the locations of historic courthouses and considers a selection of interesting legal cases from the city’s history, spanning from 1823 – 1969. Among the cases: the millionaire who vanished mysteriously, leaving a family dispute in his wake; a seamstress arrested for murder for preferring to dress as a man; a Mohawk woman who took the British Crown to court to regain her land, and a rock star who filled the courtroom with adoring fans!
