Lawrence Park - the garden suburb
Alex. Grenzebach
A Springtime walk through the western part of Lawrence Park - the garden suburb envisioned by W. S. Dinnick over a century ago. We will pass by some of the original houses designed by Chadwick & Beckett and the site of the original Lawrence farmhouse which has an interesting connection with slavery in the West Indies. We will drop by a beautiful park dedicated to the author of The Maple Leaf Forever. We will discuss the problems created by infill housing and housing intensification.
