Local Food & Activism

Bob Biderman, Paul Decampo, Andrea Dawber, Zach Weingarten

This Jane's Walk will explore the history of Karma Coop, the activists who founded and led the co-op in the 1970's, and the many member-activists who have helped shape our city and continue to do so. The tour will begin at Jane Jacob's Albany home, visit her local park with a dedicated rose garden in her honour, and then explore some of the collaborative local mural projects that animate Karma Lane & Debbie Brown Lane. The tour will end at Karma Coop for a talk on the importance of local food ecosystems and how we can work together to strengthen our local economy, keep our agricultural lands productive, and ensure that local food ecosystems continue to sustain us.
Post-walk socializing, snacks & drinks available at Karma.
