Una Passeggiata Nella Piccola Italia
Michael Andrew Binetti
The passeggiata is a cherished Italian tradition that involves leisurely strolls, engaging conversations, and lots of people-watching!
Come for an evening passeggiata through Little Italy, the epicenter of Toronto's postwar Italian immigrant community. A community which has grown into the fourth largest Italian population outside of Italy.
We will discuss Little Italy's start as an Italian community; the hardships Italians faced in a British, colonial Toronto not welcoming to immigrants; traditions; and Italian-Canadian figures who have made their mark on Toronto.
Do like the Italians. Dress to impress, and see you on College Street!
