The Secret Life of a 311 Service Request
Becky Katz, Dan Malizia, Nirmalan Vijeyakumar
Have you ever wondered what happens after you report a pothole, a missing sign, or a broken bike lane curb to 311? Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at how a service request travels through the City’s systems, from the moment a call, email, or app submission is received to the crews on the ground who make repairs and keep the city running.
Led by City of Toronto’s Transportation Services Operations and Maintenance and Permits and Enforcement staff with experience overseeing maintenance and utility work, this walk will explore the journey of a service request, the complexities of 311 data sets, and the challenges of keeping a city in good shape.
