A Passeggata in Little Italy
Michael Andrew Binetti
The passeggiata is a cherished Italian tradition that involves leisurely strolls, engaging conversations, and lots of people-watching!
Come for a passeggiata in the historic heart of Toronto's Italian community - College Street. We will discuss Italian immigration to Canada, the rise and decline of Italian neighborhoods around Toronto, the hardships Italians faced in an unwelcoming Toronto, the stories of some of those first Italian immigrants, and how Italians have left their mark in Toronto and have grown the community into the fourth largest Italian community outside of Italy.
Do like the Italians. Dress to impress, and see you on College Street!
