Keeping Scarborough Local Food Tour
Fizza Khalid
Scarborough is home to one of the most diverse and vibrant local business scenes in the city, but it’s changing rapidly. This Jane’s Walk explores the cultural and community importance of small, independent food businesses along the Lawrence corridor.

Starting at Brockley Dr and Lawrence Ave we’ll visit a series of beloved local spots that reflect the area’s Bangladeshi, Caribbean and Tamil communities as well as others. Along the way, we’ll share stories of how these businesses got started, how they’ve evolved, and why preserving them matters in the face of Scarborough's development.
Participants will experience Scarborough through its food, while engaging in a broader conversation about cultural preservation, local economies, and community identity.
Each stop will provide a small sample free of charge, while supplies last, but we encourage participants to try other menu items and support these businesses.
