Legends of Orton Park

Brian MacFarlane

The history of the Curran Hall Community is a fascinating walk through a mid century suburban community at 70 years of age and the story’s of the people and events that have shaped it.The walk will point out the architecture of a number of the homes, significant with some models having received federal and provincial design awards. Among the many topics covered an opportunity to hear about the short degrees of separation between this community and Canadian classic rock music, the Cannes film award, an Ontario first for affordable housing, Toronto’s largest natural inner city park adjacent to the community and its unique history before becoming a park, and many other conversations and insights.
